How Salah Hub came to be

A gift for the family became an app for everyone.

Salah Hub began in 2022 with a wish in the family: my father-in-law wanted to see the prayer times at home without reaching for his phone every time. A Raspberry Pi, a small display and many evenings became a device that has shown the times in his living room ever since.

In 2026 it grew into something bigger: the Quran to read and listen to, a Qibla compass, fifteen languages and an app anyone can use. I build it with passion alongside work and family, because a tool for prayer should be calm, honest and free of distraction.

Salah Hub is and stays free, without ads, without an account and without data collection. If the app helps you pray on time, it has done its job. I am grateful for every hint and wish.

Frequently asked questions

Short and honest answers.

Either straight from your mosque’s MAWAQIT calendar, with prayer and Iqama times, or calculated for your place with a recognised method (Muslim World League, Diyanet, Umm al-Qura, ISNA, Egypt, Karachi) and your madhab for Asr.

Yes. Calculated times need no Internet. A mosque calendar refreshes when you open the app, and days already loaded stay available offline. The Quran is fully included; the recitation is downloaded once.

Meaning-based translations by recognised translators in 14 languages, for example Saheeh International (English), Bubenheim & Elyas (German) and Diyanet (Turkish). Every translation is credited in the app.

Nothing. Salah Hub is free, without ads, without in-app purchases and without an account. That is how it should stay.

None. Settings and downloads live only on your device. Your location is used on the device alone, for the calculation. The privacy policy has the details.
